This is what I’m reading at the moment. Here are some random thoughts on chapter one…
Twin boys, Dennys and Sandy, live an interesting life. Their mother and father are scientists with experiments-in-progress going on all over the house. “Mother’s sub-atomic experiments” are a topic for discussion while eating dinner. It reminds me of Joe’s family [...]

According to Bookslut, one of the girlhood classics has been modernized for today’s reader. Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume is one of those books that made so much sense because you were dealing with the same issues that had Margaret so confused. Follow the link for a good discussion on [...]

This cookbook sounds inviting – and that’s based on the title. Cheap, Fast and Good! by Beverly Mills and Alicia Ross. I’m a great fan of quick, tasty recipes for the kitchen. It’s even better if it’s inexpensive. I’ll have to “taste test” it.

Like thousands of other American moms, I homeschool my children. Call me crazy, but I love watching them learn. A blog is a easy way to keep track of how our days are progressing, so I plan on journaling here the ups and downs of our homeschooling journey.

2. The Black Stallion [...]

After months of waiting for it to re-open, I finally got to check out the newly renovated county library. It’s huge. Overwhelming is some respects. Where do I start?? It’s so clean and bright. All the beautiful books! I think I’m in love. And I’m such a nerd, part of me wanted to cry when [...]

I’ve done it again. I’ve read the book way too fast. I need to slow down and savor it. I read The Kite Runner in, I think, three days. It was an excellent book, one I will keep on my bookshelf to be re-read again some day.
I really need to explain why it is such [...]
